Contracts DirectorRoger has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. This includes 20 years of site based experience operating a variety of types of machines including large CFA rigs. SMSTS trained he has worked closely with the Federation of Piling Specialists and suppliers to develop new safe systems of work for concrete pumping. Roger has overall responsibility for programming, operations, and procurement at Central Piling. In his spare time Roger races a rally car, goes mountain biking and follows rugby.
Managing DirectorAfter studying a degree in Civil Engineering at Loughborough University Steve chose to focus on his strongest subject, geotechnics after graduation. He spent seven years at Rock and Alluvium in a variety roles including Construction and Technical Manager enabling him to achieve Chartered Engineer status with the ICE at the earliest opportunity. Steve has given lectures and authored a number of research papers for universities. Since moving to Central Piling he has particularly concentrated his efforts on business growth, performance and improvement. Away from the office Steve enjoys spending time with friends and family, golf, football, running, reading and trying new things.
ESTIMATING, DESIGN & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERSam has overall responsibility for the Management of the Estimating team, pre-contract pile designs and cost build up to presentation of tender. Sam has over 18 years' experience of geotechnical design and estimating . In addition he is a qualified and registered technical member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and certified member of the Chartered Institute of Building. In his spare time Sam loves to play 5-a-side football and train in the gym to keep fit.
PLANT MANAGERGraham has been with Central Piling since 1983, prior to this he cut his teeth with 10 years of service at one of East Anglia’s leading plant hire and haulage firms. His involvement in building and maintaining our own in house designed rigs has provided him with a sound background to cope with today’s demanding technology and keep our fleet operational at all times. Life outside of work usually involves sponsoring his sons short circuit oval racing career along with a love of sailing.
BUYERHaving worked in the piling industry for over 30 years George has developed a solid base of competitive reliable suppliers servicing our contracts throughout the country. He is responsible for organising all transport, plant, equipment and materials and the daily monitoring and recording of site activities to ensure production targets are met. In his spare time he enjoys social cycling , gardening and spending time with family and friends.
HR ManagerJon started at Central Piling as a rig driver before moving into supervising. There he was responsible for the projects running smoothly from site preparation to the piling being completed, health and safety documentation and client liaison. At the start of 2015 he was promoted to Human Resource Manager which requires him to organise all site staff on a daily basis and to make sure all projects are manned appropriately. On top of those duties he is also responsible for our fleet of commercial vehicles to make sure they are all safe, serviced and kept in good clean condition. Jon is a fan of Tottenham Hotspur, he also enjoys gigs and film.
HSQE & Operations ManagerColin has worked through the ranks starting as a banksman in Jan 98 and now as the Manager of the Health, Safety, Environmental and piling operations. He is Chairman of the Safety, Quality, Environmental & Management committee as well as sitting on the FPS forum and also represents the FPS [Federation of Piling Specialists] at the Build UK committee meetings. Colin enjoys watching and participating in all types of sports and is a youth coach for a local football team which he has coached since 2006.
Technical ManagerWith a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering and experience in designing various retaining systems and foundations, Sebastian joined Central Piling in 2015. He has a solid technical background and earned the position of Technical Manager. He is a member of the committee for the Essex branch of the Institution of Civil Engineers and has helped prepare a number of CPD presentations. In his free time he enjoys swimming, running and seaside walks.
Northern Area ManagerNick is our Northern Area Manager based in our strategically placed office to assist all our clients in the region. With 20 years of Ground Engineering experience working for Keller Ground Engineering as Contracts Manager and May Gurney Piling as Area Manager he is responsible for Central Piling business development and piling contracts in the North. Nick has also worked in Project Management for Kier Group able to appreciate clients and main contractor conditions. Spare time is spent playing the saxophone, travel and following my son’s rugby team.
